About the Website
The NoGluten website started so that we could keep track of all of the handy websites and information that we found.

Then we added a review section so that we could share good places that we found to eat.

Finally, the review section had a new addition "Product Reviews" for individual products that were actually tasty and good to eat ...

Please note the large disclaimer at the bottom of the page. Take everything you read here with a grain of salt (plain salt, not chicken) and always read the labels!

What is Coeliac Disease?
Without wanting to duplicate much of the information already available - see the Web Links section - Coeliac Disease is essentially an allergy to "gluten".

Gluten is a protein found in Wheat, Barley, Malt, Rye ... and probably a couple of other grains! (I never promised I was an expert!)

Obviously that means there are lots of foods that are suddenly inedible.

Even more of a problem is cross contamination in places that make normal foods. Cadbury's Snack chocolate would be safe if they didn't use flour in the moulding process! Even Cheezels, although they have no ingredients containing gluten, carry a warning that they may have traces of wheat - probably due to cross contamination at the factory.

For more information have a look at the web links or search Google for Coeliac!
